Since 2008, GMEF has been organising various forums and events at different locations in the Greater Accra, Northern, Western, Ashanti, Volta and Upper East Regions. This year, she plans to expand her activities to cover awareness raising among young people who are interested in M&E in tertiary schools as well as Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEE) or young professionals and enthusiasts in M&E. The plan is to start the awareness creation from Accra and gradually expand to the other regions of the country. The maiden Youth Forum was held in Accra at the University of Ghana Business School (Graduate Building) on Saturday, 21st October, 2017 with support from UNICEF, Ghana. This event is expected to lead to another event that will comprise a competition on M&E among the participating institutions, to see how well they have understood M&E and ginger them to take more active part in GMEF activities. The competition should take place hopefully by the end of 2017. Subsequently, similar activities will take place in other parts of the country, with similar target groups.

Since it was the first GMEF event for youth in the capital city, it introduced GMEF and encouraged the formation of a strong network of youth and young people in evaluation. As with the other forums, it solicited their views on the development and promotion of national evaluation. A number of public and private universities as well as YEEs were invited to promote better linkages between different partners for more effective and sustainable development in the country as a whole. The forum was attended by the following Universities: University of Ghana (Legon),Pentecost,Knust and Bluecrest.
